In industry, machine downtimes lead to an immediate reduction of a plant's profitability. With this in mind, particularly high demands are made on industrial panel PCs in manufacturing or manufacturing-related applications which do not leave any room for either compromises or a lowering of standards for the hardware. Apart from absolute running stability and reliability, other important factors are simple operability, individual scalability, easy incorporation into an existing manufacturing environment as well as long-time availability of all components. In addition, the panel PCs must be able to withstand extreme industrial production conditions, like great changes of temperature, mechanical stresses such as shock or vibration, and they have to be resistant to various fluids.
